Our Work

Our program encourages more people to work in rail. We’re defining clearer training pathways with transportable skills that support the development of the future digital rail workforce

We're working on ways to make it easier for people to enter the rail industry and receive the training or upskilling they need for fulfilling careers.

We are taking a national approach to tackle the critical rail skills shortages by bringing together government, industry and education organisations.

The National Rail Skills Hub is developing easy-to-use tools and resources that help people to identify the job that suits their skillsets and aspirations. We show you how to take your first step into the sector, and the training pathways to get you where you need to go.

Our work is focused on:

  • achieving national recognition of rail skills and qualifications

  • developing new, faster training pathways that recognise existing skills

  • developing training material that meets industry expectations

  • hosting industry forums on priority issues.
